The Soviet Union is a Union comprised of multiple socialist states which are united under the ideology of Communism after the end of World War 2 and their incorporation into the union. At the peak of its power, the union spanned from Eastern Europe to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. This immense amount of territory allowed it to become a world superpower.
