After the Mexican War and the Gadsden Purchase the treatment of Mexicans worsen due to Americans moving towards the new lands acquired lands after 1848 and 1853. However the Government in Santa Fe in not different compare to the government in Washington. Many people want a local Government that would them. In the early months of 1860 many people from South of the Gila River finish up a Constitution to become a new Territory of the U.S however this is stop by the Civil War. Having enough from the North and South. They form a new country called Arizona. Protecting its unique Mexican-American culture. With a New Emperor they claim all lands east of the Colorado to the Rio Grande. Now Arizona must defend its sovereignty.
