We are the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, formed during the American Civil War. The 1st Minn was the very first Union volunteer infantry made after the Battle of Fort Sumter. 

We fought at 1st Battle of Bull Run/Manassas, Ball’s Bluff, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and lastly Gettysburg. At Gettysburg, we were made the most famous, charging into the confederate lines to buy time to get reinforcements. We suffered 82% casualties at Gettysburg. We saved the battle that day, perhaps even the war.
