 Fictionally, Castle Combe, or “Chateau bord de l’eau” (Castle Waterside) was founded in 889 AD by the Angles originally as a Staple Port, and was built into a Castle to launch raids from the coast. It would fall under the hands of the Burgundians, as the Viking age came to a close. Current Year: 1914
