The State of Calsonora is a sovereign nation whose history stretches back to the days of the Moom Empire. The lands surrounding the Golden State River formed the heart of the empire, giving the region its enduring title as the “Golden State.” Blythe began as a settlement along the northern coast, overlooking the ocean. As the city prospered, it expanded inland along the Golden State River and grew into the region’s largest and most influential city. For much of its history, Blythe governed itself almost as a city-state, developing its own institutions, traditions, and identity. When modern Calsonora was established, Blythe and the surrounding lands became the foundation of the new state. Today, Blythe remains the capital and cultural heart of Calsonora, while the Golden State River continues to connect the communities that grew along its shores.
