The year is 1809, Napoleon's Spanish ulcer is bleeding profusely. The previous year, the British Army landed a force of 15,000 men under the command of Lt-Gen. Sir Arthur Wellesley into Portugal in an attempt to assist the efforts to liberate the Iberian Peninsula from the French yoke. With the unpopularity of the pro-French puppet regime installed in Spain soaring to new heights following the depositions of Charles IV and Ferdinand VII, the citizens of the Iberian Peninsula begin to take up arms themselves - fighting a brutal guerrilla war to cast off the French once and for all, with armament shipments being supplied by the mighty Royal Navy and assisted by the British Army in their fight to cast off the French once and for all.
