🏆Founded in 1806 as a kingdom under Napoleon's Confederation of the Rhine, the Kingdom of Saxony, located in central Germany, played a significant role in Napoleon's campaigns, contributing a substantial contingent of troops. Saxony's army was known for its disciplined and capable infantry, supported by a strong tradition of skilled artillery and cavalry units. For the Russian campaign of 1812, Saxony provided around 20,000 soldiers, forming an integral part of the French VII Corps.
