War of the worlds: End Of Time

The Texan National Guard, now militarily isolated from the rest of the United States due to multiple fronts against the up until now unknown foe, is desperately trying to make do of it's available resources, while also taking responsibility over civilian evacuations, the invaders have caused severe damage to not only the civilian population but also the armed forces, as conventional weapons turn out ineffective against such technology. 

The Air National guard has worked day and night, daily airstrikes, which turned out to be quite effective against the large targets, the battle reached a stalemate, due to lack of reinforcements on each side, currently most of the civilian population has been evacuated, although a few stragglers have voluntarily or forcefully remained, some talks of a local militia arising even before the invasions.
