Therians are people who identify in a deep, non-physical way with a non-human animal. They know they are human and cannot change that. This connection is often psychological or instinctual, and is not by choice. A theriotype is not a spirit animal. Many therians use gear, quadrobics, or experience shifts; but these are by no means a requirement. Related identities include otherkin (identifying with non-human, non-animal beings), fictionkin (with fictional characters), and otherhearted (deep affinity without identity).
