Eastern Roman Empire

   The Eastern Roman Empire also known as the Byzantine Empire was the most powerful economic, cultural and military force in all of Europe. So powerful, it survived the fragmentation and fall of the Western Roman Empire. Existing more than a thousand years after, Eastern Rome succeeds where Western Rome fails.

Justinian sought to revive the empire's power and reconquer the lost western half of the historical Roman Empire. Under Justinian's Rule, the Eastern Roman Empire swiftly conquered the Ostrogothic kingdom, restoring Dalmatia, Sicily, Italy, and Rome to the empire after more than half a century of rule by the Ostrogoths.
