The Unison Brotherhood was created after The American Revolution upon the revelation that the teachings and ideologies of both The Templar Order and Assassin Brotherhood were wrong.

The Unison Brotherhood gets its name on the basis that, even though its members come from a mix of different backgrounds, they unite under the ideology of The Truth and fight as one to accomplish it.
