Rome will rule the world. It is her destiny and always has been. Claiming a line of descent back to Hercules, Romans are not lacking in pride. Romans are not lacking in fierceness: their city was founded by twins raised by a wolf. Roman armies may have been beaten, but they have always dragged themselves back in to any fight, and battled on. The empire stretched to the wet and dark lands of Britain to the North, the devastating deserts of the Middle East, the untamed lands of Spain to the West and the rich Valleys of the Nile to the South. She would only fall at the bloody siege of Constantinople.
