The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was a powerful political union in Eastern Europe that existed from 1569 to 1795. It was created by the Union of Lublin, which formally joined the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania into a single state.
Large and diverse.
At its height, it was one of the largest countries in Europe, covering parts of modern-day Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and Latvia, with a very diverse population.
