Instead of departing from Alexandria with their loot, a formidable garrison made up of remaining Cypriot, Venetian and Hospitaller Crusaders remain footed in the sands of Alexandria. 

Taking advantage of the destruction of the inner city, they have rendered the city uninhabitable, applying a scorched-earth policy throughout the necropolis, in preparation for the oncoming relief forces of the Mamluks, from Cairo.

Forging a stronghold on the Pharos Peninsula, those who remained on the shores of Alexandria reorganised themselves as the Knights Union of Alexandria, lighting the beacon of Christendom in the northern shores of Egypt.
