Blood & War is a Medieval Genre that stays in a 300 year period from the 13th until the late 14th century. The Middle Ages is described as the "Dark Ages", from the fall of the Roman Empire to the Rise of the Ottoman Empire. The Medieval Times, were very dark times for most. They were filled with tragedy and despair, until the Renaissance Era, they were still undergoing change in civilization.
