Kopassus SFC Beret

Kopassus, Indonesia’s elite army special forces unit—formally known as Komando Pasukan Khusus—was established on 16 April 1952 by Alexander Evert Kawilarang and Mochammad Idjon Djanbi. From the beginning it was designed to handle the most sensitive and dangerous tasks the Indonesian government could not entrust to regular troops: hostage rescues, deep reconnaissance, sabotage behind enemy lines, counter-terrorism, and counter-insurgency.
