1989 (Taylor’s Version) is the fourth re-recorded album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 27, 2023, through Republic Records. It is a re-recording of Swift’s fifth studio album, 1989 in her effort to reclaim ownership of her back catalog following a dispute over the masters of her earlier works.

The album includes re-recorded versions of the original 1989’s 16 tracks, alongside five previously unreleased “From the Vault” songs. 

The album received widespread critical acclaim, with critics praising Swift’s recreation of the original’s bright, nostalgic sound and the added emotional depth of the new material as well as a statement of artistic independence.
