Mexico Three Guarantees Flag Patch

The Flag of the Three Guarantees, the banner of the Army of the Three Guarantees and the first national flag of Mexico, sewn in the town of Iguala by the tailor Jose Magdaleno Ocampo in the year of the plan that bound the old royalist and insurgent forces into one. Three broad stripes run diagonally across the field from the hoist, white then green then red, and upon each rests a golden star of eight points. The three colours stand for the three guarantees of that plan, the faith, the independence of the nation, and the union of its peoples.
