Tanto (Waist, Back)

A "repro" of a 15th-17th century Japanese "Tanto" (短刀) faithfully recreated, for the most part, by Nomino Heavy Industries' Historical Branch Division. These short blades were often used as a personal defense weapon by samurai and peasant alike, although some tanto were also used on the battlefield as CQC grappling weapons against armor.

The word "Tanto" is actually a generalized umbrella term for Japanese daggers and shortswords.
