The Vision Enhancing or Replacement Monocular Eyepiece are complete overhauls of dubious vision augments simply dubbed "Agent Eyepieces". The AS2 version has toggleable infrared & 8K resolution.

Hundreds of damaged examples were recovered on the dead planet "Eden-227" by an NHI Voyager detachment. While the optic provided a substantial increase in visibility, using them meant giving up natural eyesight. HMC, NHI's Medical Subsidiary, solved this by integrating neuro-links to use the device with relative ease.

The option of surgically melding it remains, though it is only utilized by those who have lost their eyes.
